يوم السفر! تجمعنا في المطار في السادسة والنصف. حقائب الأطفال كانت أكبر من حقائبنا نحن الكبار (كله من الأندومي! J). بعد لحظات الوداع المؤثرة بين الأطفال والأهل دخلنا لنبدأ رحلتنا. بعد سبع ساعات ونصف وصلنا بسلام إلى مطار هيثرو في لندن لنجد وفدا من مدرسة هارو هاوس بانتظارنا.
استغرقت رحلتنا بالباص من المطار إلى بلدة سوانج ثلاث ساعات تقريبا استمتعنا خلالها بالمناظر الطبيعية الخلابة على جانبي الطريق.
حال وصولنا إلى المدرسة في السابعة مساء بتوقيت سوانج، تجمعنا في القاعة الرئيسية. رحب بنا نائب المدير ومجموعة من المعلمين والمشرفين. عرف نائب المدير أطفالنا بالمدرسة ومرافقها وقوانينها،
ثم قام أحد المشرفين باصطحابهم إلى مطعم المدرسة لتناول العشاء. بعد الوجبة تم توزيع الأطفال على غرفهم لإفراغ حقائبهم وترتيب حاجياتهم. ضحكنا كثيرا عندما دخلنا للاطمئنان عليهم لنجد أن معظم الخزائن والأدراج امتلأت عن آخرها بجميع أنواع الطعام وخاصة الأندومي والكورن فليكس!! J
الأحد – 17/6/2007
أيقظ مشرفو الأقسام أطفالنا في السابعة صباحا لتناول وجبة الإفطار. بعدها تجمعنا في القاعة الرئيسية لتقسيمهم إلى مجموعات لدخول اختبار تحديد المستوى، الذي تم على أساسه توزيع الأطفال على الفصول المناسبة.
اصطحبناهم مساءً إلى الشاطئ – مسافة عشر دقائق قطعناها على الأقدام J - لتناول المثلجات اللذيذة، ثم أدخلناهم حديقة الشاطئ للاستمتاع بالألعاب.

Mr Ahmed Al Mulla, principal of Omar Bin Al Khattab Model School-Dubai, over a hill in Swanage-UK. 
Language is the basic tool of communication in the sense of enabling a student to understand and be understood, and to establish their own identity. Language is also the avenue by which one gains access to literature and thereby to the cultural treasury of civilization.
Mrs Aisha Lootah, principal of Al Ebda Model School, realizing the importance of English language as a major means of communication, managed to translate words into actions when she signaled the organizing of a yearly competition for the best readers in English language.
The competition has involved most of Dubai Model School students. The first five winners are usually awarded a 2-week educational holiday in the UK.
